The Port Aransas Art Center is a thriving center of the visual arts to Mustang Island, Padre Island and the neighboring communities. Artists from all over the Coastal Bend, Austin, San Antonio, Houston & all points in between, plus Winter Texans from all over the United States and Canada enjoy displaying + selling their work and/ or taking classes and  workshops. ARTFEST: The 7th Annual Artfest, featuring a fine array of artists with fine arts and crafts for show and sale is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 19-20, 2012 in Robert’s Point Park, Port Aransas. Admission is Free. Information: 361-749-7334 Artists will be selling Paintings in watercolor, oil & acrylic, Photography on canvas, paper & notecards, Bags of all types handmade from sails, Handmade Jewelry of all kinds, Glass art fused & wall sculpture+ Hand painted Glass. Hand forged wrought iron sculptures that are beach themed, Hand painted wooden surfboards, Mesquite wooden artwork, Pottery of all kinds including bowls & sea creatures, shadow boxes, handmade household items, hair décor and hand sewn children’s clothes and handmade kid crafts.

SONGWRITER’S SHOWCASE: The 29th Annual Songwriter’s Showcase is from 7 to 10:30 p.m. May 21, 2012 at Robert’s Point Park, outdoors, grassy “Chili Field” area, in Port Aransas. Bring lawn chairs, or blanket & cooler and listen to some wonderful original music out under the stars! A $7 Gate fee benefits - Port Aransas Art Center, a 501 (C) (3) Non-Profit corp. Square Foot Building Fund 

This donation is to be used only for the creation of a new Art Center Building and land to build it on. Each "SQUARE FOOT" donated has a value of $200.00 and a Certificate of Participation will be provided for each Donation. Recognition of this Donation will also be displayed in the new Art Center Building.
