Jan.30,31& Feb.1stDays: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
Time: 9:30am –4pm $275 for all 3 days min. 6 max. 16 Pre-pay by January 23rd Collage supplies are included (collage papers, archival paste, metallic gouache, etc). Students should bring their (transparent only) watercolors, 2 full sheets of Arches 140# watercolor Cold Press paper, brushes (including a mop-style that holds a lot of water), a styrofoam egg carton or small containers to mix paints, watercolor palette with large mixing area, and a clean household sponge.
Debbie says-Hand made marbled kosi paper, Thai lace paper, metallic powders, and Japanese rice parchments will introduce you to a new way to explore non-objective collage painting with water media.
You don’t need to be a proficient artists to play with this technique. No experience necessary, but a working knowledge of how to use watercolor will be helpful. Those proficient in painting can apply strong elements of design to their composition to take this process further. Two paintings can be done and the entire class will participate in a positive critique at the end of the third day. |
